HAN – How We Aim to Benefit from Eco Initiatives
On March 13, 2024, the ceremonial kick-off for the 15th ÖKOPROFIT® round in the Bielefeld Regiopolis region took place.
We at HAN are excited to be part of this project. For one year, the eight participating companies will work under the professional guidance and support of the German Federal Working Group for Environmentally Conscious Management (B.A.U.M. e.V.) to expand their knowledge of sustainability in the workplace, set individual project priorities, and ultimately receive a certification that is even recognized as part of the EMAS certification. At the heart of the ÖKOPROFIT® concept are networking and the combination of ecological benefits with economic gain.
The focus includes saving energy and resources, as well as reducing waste. We look forward to an exciting and productive year, gaining new insights, and, of course, achieving concrete results in optimizing our operations. Over the past years, HAN has already made significant strides to work more efficiently and reduce our CO₂ footprint. Now it’s time for the next concrete steps. We particularly value the diverse mix of companies in the project, as it allows us to consider a wide range of topics and stakeholder requirements and incorporate them into our own sustainability efforts. It gives us the opportunity to look beyond our own operations and broaden our perspective.
We have already established a small environmental team within the company, which will focus on the tasks and activities of the ÖKOPROFIT® project and help implement them in our operations. Managing Director Ralf Niehaus is also part of the team, making this important topic a “top management priority” at HAN.
